True MAGA; Make America God-Fearing Again

Published by

In President Trump’s first week of his second term, he signed several executive orders for behaviors that would have been appalling at one time in America’s life. There was a time when someone looked in the mirror and saw themselves and then began to behave oppositely, that that person would be deemed mentally unstable. There was once upon a time when a mother sharing that she wanted to kill her child would have warranted a mental evaluation or even jail time. There was a time when sexually immoral behavior would not be paraded in public and would be incredibly offensive in a world that was once God-fearing. There was once upon a time in America when nothing was open on Sundays because Sundays were a day of worship for the American family. There was a time when children would respect authority and were taught that the American way meant hard work and dedication, not quotas or entitlement. Glorifying sin and immorality would not be praised by a God-fearing public.

At the beginning of creation, God set Adam and Eve in the beautiful garden He created so they could walk with Him and enjoy the fruit of the land. The whole world crumbled once Eve left her role as Adam’s helpmate and usurped his authority because she believed the devil’s lies. This is something that has happened over and over again throughout history. A nation embraces God’s Word, lives in fear of His judgments, and strives to live in subjection to His authority. It begins to turn away from Him, and its whole nation collapses. We saw this in the Bible when the nation of Israel no longer wanted to live under God’s direct rule as it is written in 1 Kings 8:4-7, “Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah; and they said to him, “Behold, you have grown old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations.”  But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” And Samuel prayed to the Lord. The Lord said to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.

President Trump can not make America great again, but God can, and by His grace, we can be great again. It is by God we are blessed, as it says in Psalms 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” When America treated God with reverence and respect, we experienced great blessing and prosperity; however, when we began to write immorality into the fabric of our nation’s laws, we quickly saw America decline. The family declined, the church declined, the economy declined, and the fear of God declined. The church must also take responsibility for the condition of our culture. America’s church was steeped with false teachers, teaching a gospel of prosperity and faith healing. Sexual immorality was swept under the rug, and many evils were perpetrated by church leaders. It is the responsibility of those of us who profess faith in Christ to make America great again by being the salt and light Christ died for us to be in this world. We were warned not to love the world or the things of the world. This is what brought down creation in the beginning. Anytime we seek our desires instead of obeying God, it will bring corruption and destruction.

Romans 12:1-2 tells us how we, people of faith, should live in this world.  “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” This does not imply a life of perfectly sinless life, this requires a consistent and sincere commitment to obey God’s Word. The Bible teaches us that if we truly “love” God, we will keep His commandments. We must live set apart and embrace the kingdom living Christ died for us to have. At Inspiring Life Books, our goal is to be a vessel in publishing Bible-based books that disciple, challenge, and inspire the Body of Christ to live holy as God is holy. Be Blessed!
