Welcome to the first day of March. We have quickly gone through 61 days of the year. March is a very special month for me. February is the love month and it is my birthday month, but March is my rebirth month. On March 28, 1992, I made the decision to exchange my life of sin for the grace and forgiveness of God. I have never desired to go back into darkness since that time. Each year I take an inventory of my spiritual growth and set goals to grow in the coming year. We will never grow spiritually if we are not purposeful and intentional. The process of sanctification requires making a choice to give up more and more of sin, for more and more of Christ. I love what Galatians 2:20 says, and I use this verse as my reminder of the kind of Christian I choose to be. “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Our walk of faith was bought with the blood of Christ and God expects us to honor our commitment to follow Him. God has given us His Word to teach us all we need to know about Him, about His Son, about salvation, and about eternity. He has called us to choose life and in that choosing we must choose wisely. We have the Proverbs to teach us how to live wise, reverent and honorable lives before God. I pray you will be blessed as we go through another month of feasting on God’s Word. Be Blessed!

March 31, 2025 – Proverbs 31 – Happy Resurrection Sunday!! Today we celebrate Christ resurrection from the dead and our eternal work of freedom. When Christ died, He died for all of our sins. Our past, present and future sin. Everyone has complete forgiveness. It is a gift of God as we are taught in Ephesians 2:5-8. The Scriptures from Proverbs 31 today, has to do with the excellent wife. This is a picture of a woman, who excels in whatever gift God has given her to minister to her family. Not every woman can sew, and not every woman is a business guru, but all of us who are mom’s and wives have been given gifts and a measure of faith to minister to our families. Scriptures tell us that on that glorious day with Christ rose from the dead, as we celebrate today, He gave gifts to man. This means all mankind, men and women. So as you reflect on Christ today, know that when He rose from the dead, we who receive His grace rose with Him. And we can now live the excellent life, doing our best in whatever God has called us to do.
Proverbs 31, is a Proverb to inspire us to be excellent wives, mothers and home makers. Each characteristic gives us wisdom and guidance to be the best we can be. Proverbs 31:10-12 is the verse that had a great influence on my role as a wife. “An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.” When I meet a young woman who is about to get married I encourage her to consider why she wants to get married. God has given us the divine role of being helpmates for our husbands. I do not think we understand the importance of being a help mate.
This is the person who can see what her husband can not see. She protects him from bad company, from women who may be trying to destroy him, and prays for God’s covering over him. It is not our role to expect them to perform something great so that they can receive “ooohs” and “aahs” as they perform for our friends and family. No, God wants us to be someone our husbands can trust. Proverbs 31 can provide great insights into our roles as wives. God did not give us these Scriptures to make us feel we had to be supermoms or superwives. These Scriptures teach us how to be excellent in how we manage our families. We do not have to go about doing all of these things. He gave us these Scriptures to encourage us to be our best with whatever skill set He has blessed us with. In our role as moms and providers in the home, these Proverbs are intended to encourage us not overwhelm us. In our role as moms and providers in the home these Proverbs provide great insights. How about you? What verse in Proverbs 31 inspires you to be better? Be blessed.

March 30, 2025 -Proverbs 30: 24-28 – “Four things are small on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise: The ants are not a strong people, but they prepare their food in the summer; The shephanim are not mighty people, yet they make their houses in the rocks; The locusts have no king, yet all of them go out in ranks; The lizard you may grasp with the hands, yet it is in kings’ palaces.”
Think about all the ways God provides for us in grandiose ways. This Proverb challenges us to see the goodness of the Lord in everything He has made. I was thinking about the lizard. He can be in my house today and in a billionaires house at another time. He doen’t have to knock; He just walks freely into any place he chooses. Summer is around the corner and it is a great time to go outside and take note of the testimony of God’s care and faithfulness He provides to the least of His creation. Think about that. What verse or verses in Proverbs 30 inspires you to see God’s faithfulness? Think about how faithful He was to bring salvation to all man kind. Be blessed!

Proverbs 29, 2025 – Proverbs 29:17-18 “Correct your son, and he will give you comfort; He will also delight your soul. Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but happy is he who keeps the law.” God gave me 5 attempts to raise my children in the training and admonition of the Lord, and I have learned some hard lessons from those attempts. The one that I would pass on to those with very young children is this; Correcting your child requires that the parent allows him or herself to be corrected.
Children learn to embrace correction when they see it in their parent’s life. The best model for them is how they see dad and mom yield to God’s correction and authority in their lives. When we teach our children that we desire to delight our heavenly Father through how we live, it teaches them that obedience is a good thing. My mom and dad provided some good examples and some not-so-good examples of this. But I did grow up believing that they feared God and submitted to His authority in different areas of their lives. When I think back to the rebellious times my husband and I experienced with our children, I think about my childhood and teen rebellion. The best environment for correcting our children is in a home where the parent(s) are submitted to God and live through His correction. Be blessed!

March 28, 2025 – Proverbs 28:4-5. – “Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all things.” When we disobey God, we are joining with those who are wicked in saying that God’s Word is not essential, effective, or beneficial. Those who violate or despise God’s commands do not understand why God instituted them. When God gave Moses the laws and commands in Leviticus, He did so for a purpose. God saw what sin had done to His beautiful creation. Without any moral direction, sin corrupts the heart and the mind. There was nothing out of bounds for what people would not do. He saw that the nations were having sex with their same kind, they were having sex with animals, they were committing incest, and all types of other immoralities. But God chose the children of Israel and instituted boundaries so that they could live holy lives and have fellowship with Him, their Creator.
God is Holy, He exists in perfect morality. He is not evil and desires no evil. He gave the Ten Commandments and the Levitical laws so that the people He chose for Himself would be different. They would live righteous, holy lives. God also knew they could not live perfect sinless lives, so He made provisions for their sins. God’s instructions to Moses in Exodus and Leviticus were not to make life difficult for this nation that He chose for Himself. He saw the pain, suffering, and heartache of those in the surrounding nations who practiced immoral acts and wanted a better life for His people. He desired to protect them, and in the same way, He desires to protect us from the torment of sin. Everything God tells us not to do is for our good. We would not want anyone to behave towards us in the manner that God prohibits. Think about it. I would not want anyone lying to me, stealing from me, and being envious. I want my children to be respectful and my spouse to be faithful. God deserves to be honored and respected too. And that is why we should keep His laws and commands so that the wicked would see the error of their ways. Be blessed!

March 27, 2025 – Proverbs 27 – He who blesses his friend with a loud voice early in the morning, it will be reckoned a curse to him. A constant dripping on a day of steady rain and a contentious woman are alike; He who would restrain her restrains the wind, and grasps oil with his right hand.” Proverbs 27:14-15 Verse 14 reminds me of a scene out of the “I Love Lucy” show. Either Lucy or Ethel would find themselves in some hilarious mess and run to each other no matter what time of day it was. It was comical and entertaining to watch them be awaken out of their sleep with one of their urgent crisis, but if it were us in real life it would not be as funny.
Think about that. What can that verse teach us about how we treat our friends? We also have the contrast of the constant dripping on a day of steady rain. What wisdom is God trying to pass to us regarding our relationship with our husbands? Greg and I have an understanding that if I ask him to do something and he does not do it, then I know it’s not something he wants to do and I will do it myself instead of being that steady dripping. I have learned however that if it is something I can do for myself, I will just do it. What verses stood out to you in Proverbs 27? Allow the Holy Spirit to help you create a visual of what that verse may look like in real life. Be blessed!

March 26, 2025 – Proverbs 26:10-12 – “Like an archer who wounds everyone, so is he who hires a fool or who hires those who pass by. Like a dog that returns to its vomit is a fool who repeats his folly. Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.” I had a chuckle as I envisioned verse 12. Suppose you were out taking a walk and you see this person just shooting arrows aimlessly. Everyone who passes by gets hit with his arrow. People are ducking and feeling the pains of his misguided arrows. Then I receive wisdom from this Proverb. People who allow just anyone in their lives who really have no purpose, are usually the ones who end up being hurt by the actions of those who act foolishly. God did not save us as His sons and daughters to be passer-byes in each others lives. I love how the church in Acts 2:37-47 depicts the life of believers. It is a beautiful fellowship and their were no passer-byes. Whether it’s hiring someone, marrying someone or just having a relationship with someone, always see the purpose God has for that person in your life. I am so grateful for my sisters in Christ; they all have a purpose in my life and are not just fair weathered passer-byes. . Think about that? Do you know what purpose God has for the people in your life or are they just there?
The next verse provided a good visual as well. Vomit is nasty and stinky. It smells and we do all we can to clean it up if we ever encounter it. A dog does not know that vomit is nasty, he or she will just lick it right up. That’s how people act when they continue in repeating the same bad thing over and over again. He or she has been so deceived by the enemy that they soon forget the bad and go right back to it again. Just licking up the vomit. In some instances doing what the last verse says. We can become so misguided by leaning on our own understanding that the vomit really isn’t that bad. It’s vomit and it’s always bad. In that case there is more hope for a fool than someone in this state of mind. Be blessed!

March 25, 2025 -Proverbs 25:11-12 – “Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken in right circumstances. Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold is a wise reprover to a listening ear.” The wisdom from these verses is such great examples of words spoken in the right circumstances and a wise reprover. They not only teach us wisdom but we learn how to share God’s wisdom with others. God does not work in everyone’s circumstances in the same way. But when we rely on His Word it will provide answers in every circumstance.
The best advice we can give anyone is God’s word and then step back and watch God use His Word. It can be tough to keep up with reading and studying but there is not a day in our life that we can live without God’s truth sustaining us. As you think about your reading for today think about what Scriptures God moved you to draw from and write them down. Be blessed!

March 24, 2025 – Proverbs 24:16-18 – “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity. Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles, Or the LORD will see it and be displeased, And turn His anger away from him. From where do we obtain righteousness? Only in Jesus Christ are we redeemed. Only by His blood are we cleansed. So, when I fall I should IMMEDIATELY look up, and focus on God, and He will lift me up. My heart should be so devoted to loving and serving Him, that I will not rejoice when my enemy stumbles. My heart should bow before the throne of my Savior, and be content with God’s judgment. He will have mercy upon whom HE will have mercy.
I have stumbled countless times in my life, and God has never failed to pick me up and put me back on course. I was once God’s enemy and have been forgiven by His grace. God’s Word says that He does not delight in the death of the wicked and that He desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. God will grant forgiveness to all who humble themselves and submit to the Lordship of His Son. We should not gloat and rejoice in the failings of others. In 1 Corinthians 13, we learn that love does not rejoice in evil. We should seek to see people changed and redeemed from their sins. It should not make us happy when anyone falls on hard times or is chastised for wicked or evil acts. We want God to give us grace when we fall short should not we want the same for others? Be Blessed!

March 23, 2025 – Proverbs 23:10-12. “Do not move the ancient boundary or go into the fields of the fatherless, for their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their case against you. Apply your heart to discipline and your ears to words of knowledge.” Because the Proverbs are chapters and chapters of wisdom for a variety of situations and few chapters have a specific focus within them, it may be hard sometimes to take it all end. God does not want us to forget what our elders have done to help us build lives that honor Him. When God brings up a nation, He will protect that nation, when people try and take away or take over land that God did not give to them, He will chastise them. When people try and take advantage of the fatherless, God will be their father, and He will avenge those who mistreat and misuse them.
2 Timothy 3:16 teaches us that, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” Proverbs 30:5-6 says, “Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.” I encourage you, as you have time to let every Scripture in the Proverbs teach, reprove, correct, and train you to develop a lifestyle of wisdom and righteousness. We can trust God’s Word. But first, we must study and apply it to see the great working power it has to transform us. The Holy Spirit will water and blossom what He sees is needed to mature you spiritually. Be blessed!

March 22, 2025 – Proverbs 22:13-15 – “The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside; I will be killed in the streets!” The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit; He who is cursed of the Lord will fall into it. Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of discipline will remove it far from him.” Today, these Proverbs on life and conduct stood out to me. We can experience these truths as we apply them to real-life situations. The sluggard is lazy. This person will always find an excuse not to work or contribute. Sluggards are takers, they are always looking for ways to make things easier for themselves. I find this to be true in the experiences I have had when dealing with lazy people.
We know that those who want to fulfill their lustful desires will fill the ears of their prey with all types of empty promises to get what they want. A child will learn from their mistakes by administering correction through effective discipline. I only had to find out once what a belt felt like as a child to correct my behavior. My parents had different rods for different levels of foolishness and they all served their purposes well for me. Maybe something different in today’s Proverb stood out to you and if so, use it to make your life and conduct more like Christ. Be blessed!

March 21, 2025 – Proverbs 21:3-5 “To do righteousness and justice is desired by the Lord more than sacrifice. Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin. The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.” All of the Proverbs provide wisdom for us. There are several places in the Bible where God shares how He feels about those who would rather do things they believe should please God. They serve, they give, and they go on Mission trips all because they think that their sacrifice or offering should be received. They gave of their time, they contributed to the poor, they gave awesome messages to the congregation, and they even brought worshippers to tears with their great gift of singing. But these are works and God is not pleased with works alone. This is what Moses taught the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 6:4-9, “Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
Christ told the woman at the well in John 4, that those who worship God, must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Romans 12:1 teaches us, that we must present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable act of worship. God is not impressed with works or lip service and since He created us, He knows every thought and intent of the heart. Psalm 139, reveals to us the depth at which God knows us and there is nothing hidden from Him. We develop haughty eyes and a proud heart when we attempt to tell God what we will do instead of submitting to Him in obedience. God’s love language is obedience and when we aim to do the things in His Word that He has already commanded us to do, we are doing what is righteous and just. There may be a Scripture or even several Scriptures that take root in your heart. Let God’s Word complete His perfect work of wisdom in you. Please feel free to share how God used this Proverb to make you wiser. Be blessed!

March 20, 2025 – Proverbs 20:19 – “He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, therefore do not associate with a gossip.” We go through great care to ensure that we stay away from bad people. We might put people like murderers, thieves, sexually immoral, and liars in this category, but the Bible tells us not to associate with gossip. I wonder why it seems like women have this automatic motor that starts in our mouths when someone tells us a secret. Why does it seem we have to share the secrets we have been privy to? I am thankful that through some embarrassing experiences, God has helped me to see how horrible it is to be a gossip.
I had to create some common guidelines for myself, to ensure that I am handling what other people tell me in a way that honors God and them. The top three questions that should be considered are: Is it a secret? Did the person share it with only me because they only wanted me to know? Do I have permission to share what someone else has shared with me? I empathize by considering how I would feel if someone would tell something I told them confidentially. Could this be a part of our sinful nature as women? When Christ frees us from the ways of our old selves of gossiping, we can become a trustworthy vessel for others. A character trait that reflects Christ in us is integrity. We can trust those who faithfully model integrity in their lives. How about you? What verse or verses caused you to pause or ponder as you read Proverbs 20? I would love to hear your insights. Be blessed!LikeLike

March 19, 2025 – Proverbs 19:14 – “House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.” It has taken me many years to live out this Scripture. I am so embarrassed at how long it took me to learn how to become a prudent wife. I encourage you to cherish those who love you enough to speak hard things into your life. My dear sister Karina was the person God used to help me become wiser in my dealings with my husband. I came to her hoping she would validate my exit plan, but instead she gave me the counsel only a good sister would.
Her love for marriage was a vessel God used to bless my marriage. I saw my own immaturity and insecurities through her counsel. I was not to judge Greg, or fix him, or make him become everything I thought he should be. My role was to be his help mate. I was to be a wise advisor, a fierce defender against the enemy for him through prayer, a faithful friend, but more than anything else, an example to this lost world of how the church relates to Christ. God does not want us telling our sisters how bad our husbands are, He wants us to desire His best for him. God will deal with our husbands as He needs to; we need to be prudent wives whose faith in Christ compels our husbands to be all that God created them to be. I made a covenant to God that I would love and cherish Greg.
My identity is in Christ and not what my husband thinks of me. I encourage you to seek the Lord and allow Him to help you become His prudent wife and helpmate for your husband. I wrote my book ‘We’re Getting Married Forever”, to help other couples avoid the selfish traps of the flesh. As I came to the place of seeing marriage God’s way, I had to stop thinking about my exit plans. God desires us to build a marriage that can weather the storms of life; and not to abandon ship when we experience turbulent times. March 18, 2024 – Proverbs 18:5-6 – “To show partiality to the wicked is not good, nor to thrust aside the righteous in judgment. A fool’s lips bring strife, and his mouth calls for blows.” God warns us over and over again about being partial. God desires that we judge everyone with the same grace, mercy and benefit of the doubt. He does not want us to be partial to someone we know supports us and is involved in evil. Those who follow Christ should be steadfast supporters of what is Biblically good. We in America have become so deceived by what is politically, culturally, or even what would be American “good” that it can impact our ability to judge without partiality. We who follow Christ should measure good from a Biblical standpoint of good.
Christ gave us the measure of evaluating good, by what He said in Mark 10:18 “And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.” If it is not God that we are crediting good to, then everyone else falls short. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” When God finished His work of creation in Genesis chapter 1:31, He surveyed His work and determined that it was “very good”. However after sin entered the heart of man, God saw us differently. Genesis 6:5, “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Then, Psalm 14:3-4 says, “The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; no one does good, not even one.”
When we see wickedness, we should confront it as wicked. When we judge with partiality because of our relationship with a person, their social status, their influence in our lives, or even political affiliation, we give that person the loyalty God should have. We must rightly discern situations and judge fairly without regard for a person. God desires us to have integrity in judging righteously because it is the right thing to do, even if the outcome of our judgment causes a loss to us. We must love God that much because He will not accept anything less. Be blessed!

March 17, 2025 – Proverbs 17:13-15 -“He who returns evil for good, evil will not depart from his house. The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so abandon the quarrel before it breaks out. He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous, both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord.” When a person has a bent on being evil and ugly to others, you will find that those types of people are those whose lives are filled with constant trouble.
These Scriptures have been a great guide through the years to remind me to be consistent in self-examination. I must constantly check the motives of my actions. Even when we are attacked lied to and mistreated and we are tempted to defend ourselves, God does not want us to strike back with evil. I have learned that the amount of pride we foster is reflected in how we respond when someone hurts or offends us. Pride causes us to hold on to unforgiveness and strike back. Think about how you would respond, and then think about where you see yourself on a pride scale of 1 to 10. God has given us the power to replace pride, (thinking more highly of ourselves than we out to think) with love, (the ability to put others before ourselves). This will help us to abandon quarrels before they turn ugly. It’s a great exercise in becoming more like Jesus. Be blessed!

March 16, 2025 – Proverbs 16:4 – “The Lord has made everything for its own purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil.” This Scripture reflects the sovereignty, rule and authority of God. When we live our lives through the lens of this Scripture it will change the way we think, act and react to everything and the way we behave. When we accept God, knowing that He owes us nothing and that we respect His prerogative to rule in His sovereignty, our days of worry and sorrow will be replaced with contentment and peace.
God really does have a purpose for everything and He does not have to tell us what that purpose is. When He does it is out of His grace and lovingkindness, because He does not have to. When we enter into a relationship with God and think that our service to Him warrants us any sort of special favors we set ourselves up for great disappointment. When we serve God we do it only because we are grateful and thankful that He allowed us to know Him. I have heard of people who have turned away from God because they served Him and believed that God owed them something. He doesn’t. He does not serve us we serve Him and do the things which He has called us to do. Think about this Scripture. How should knowing that God created “everything” for His purpose change your life? Be blessed!

March 12, 2025 – Proverbs 12:7-9, “The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous will stand. A man will be praised according to his insight, but one of perverse mind will be despised. Better is he who is lightly esteemed and has a servant than he who honors himself and lacks bread.” These verses provides a variety pack of wisdom. Its like a bed of many flowers. Flowers that smell different, look different, have different heights and serves different purposes. We receive and endless array of beauty as we look upon all the flowers joined together in one place singing forth to our Creator. That is how I envisioned Proverbs 12. Although there are varying words of wisdom that provides understanding for us in different ways and for different purposes, they all will provide us with beauty for our souls.
When we understand wickedness and how it negatively impacts people we will be able to see it in our own lives and seek God in helping us weed it out. When we understand the rewards and spiritual benefits of being righteous then we will strive to live righteous lives. Either way whether we purge sin out and allow God’s Spirit to make us more like Him, or we embrace righteousness, the result is that we will be like a flower bed to. We will give off that sweet fragrance before the Lord and cause Him to delight in us. Spiritual growth should abound as we continue in reading, “A Psalm and A Proverb each day”. Be blessed!

March 15, 2025 – Proverbs 15 – Proverbs 15:3, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, watching the evil and the good.” One thing that we can take comfort in for those of us who walk by faith is that God sees and knows everything. Now for those who are lost standing before God will be a terrifying thing. In either case, we will all be held accountable for what God sees is true about us. The enemy causes people to be deceived into thinking that no one knows our thoughts and motives.
We become focused on what other people know about us or what we can hide from each other but it is God who we should be concerned about, not man. Think about this Scripture in Proverbs 15:3 and Psalm 139. Do you live through that truth that the eyes of God are in every place where you are and know everything that you are doing? Do you live with the truth that God will hold us accountable for what He knows about us? How can this Proverb help you to live wisely? Be blessed!

March 14, 2025 – Proverbs 14 – “Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, and the end of joy may be grief.” (Proverbs 14:13) Sometimes the best medicine for us is to laugh, even when we are struggling and going through hard times. When we come to a place where we understand and embrace God’s sovereignty, we can laugh when our hearts are in pain or when we face life’s uncertainties. We can laugh when all we want to do is cry. I love to laugh and I cherish those people who bless my life with laughter. It is said that when one laughs, the laughter causes our body to heal faster. God laughs and He delights as He looks upon His children.
A parent who sees their child sad or experiencing a painful situation will usually try and make that child smile or laugh. Can you remember a time when you were suffering from something painful and someone made you laugh? What happened? Did it cause you to rise above that pain? Sometimes the opposite happens and our moments of joy become moments of grief. That is when we rely on God’s power to bring us joy. Yes, the joy of the Lord should be our strength even when we don’t have anyone else to make us laugh. How can this verse in the Proverbs help you to prepare for seasons of sadness, sorrow, and pain? How can it help you to help someone else? That too can bring joy to a painful situation. Please take time to share how the Proverbs have given you the wisdom you need to face life’s challenges. Be blessed!

March 13, 2025 – Proverbs 13:7 – There is one who pretends to be rich, but has nothing; Another pretends to be poor but has great wealth.” It is such a tragedy to hope in the riches of this world only. The richest person is the person who has eternal life in Christ. All of us have an eternal destination. Some will live eternally in hell, and some of us will live eternally in the riches of the inheritance in Christ. So many people get caught up in the stuff of this life. They have all the luxuries of earthly riches but have nothing stored up in heaven.
Matthew 6:19 teaches us this: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal. When we live Spirit-filled lives we will yield treasures that await us in heaven. But if all we do is live every day for this life we will have nothing to cast at the foot of Christ. God tells us throughout the New Testament how to gain true riches and not only pretend to be rich. Being rich just for this life is pretentious because once our life here is over whatever we possess here is also over. Seek those things which are above. Be blessed!

March 11, 2025 – Proverbs 11:9 – “With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.” Here again, we are instructed about the mouth. What we say about people and what we say to people will reveal the true measure of godliness in our lives. Our mouths are so quick to open with insults in vile words. God desires that our words be used for the edification of others. We should not use the same mouth that praises God during times of prayer and worship to then be used to spew evil against someone. Ephesians 4:29, says, “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.” James 3:9-10, “With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way.
I am so thankful for the church that I was saved in. These people were amazing disciples. They taught me so much about my life and responsibilities as a messenger of the gospel. We are to live as Christ is alive and going about everywhere we are, listening to every Word we say. Our words should be laced with grace. When we speak our words should build up and point others to Christ. Let all of who we are reflect that we have been redeemed by Christ, especially our mouths. I encourage you to let the Psalms and Proverbs be your disciples. You will grow to reflect Christ as you allow these Scriptures to mold your heart. Be blessed!

March 10, 2025 – Proverbs 10 – Proverbs 10:8 “The wise of heart will receive commands, but a babbling fool will be ruined.” The wisest thing we can do is yield to the commandments of God. Everyone of God’s commandments are good for our soul, our health and our life. His commandments are founded through His perfect knowledge of everything. There is nothing better for us than to live in obedience to God. What are our options? Disobedience. No matter how we may try and wrap our actions up so they will not appear so bad to us, does not change what God sees, He sees all sin as disobedience.
Each month the Proverbs provides Scripture after Scripture about keeping God’s commands. My hope is that as we read the Proverbs each month that they will begin to shape the way you think, act, react and live each and every day. I pray that you will always become obedient followers of Christ living by His commands and bring glory to His name. Be blessed!

March 9, 2025 – Proverbs 9:13-18 -“The woman of folly is boisterous, She is naive and knows nothing. She sits at the doorway of her house, On a seat by the high places of the city, Calling to those who pass by, who are making their paths straight: “Whoever is naive, let him turn in here,” and to him who lacks understanding she says, “Stolen water is sweet; And bread eaten in secret is pleasant.” But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.”
These verses remind me a little of many Hollywood celebrities who are always calling attention to themselves and boasting about things they do not know. Meanwhile, I see wise women, working quietly in their homes or the workplace. They are hospitable and share the fruits of their labor. Wisdom is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It is not flashy. It is faithfulness and obedience to God’s Word, and it cultivates the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Those who love darkness, will not desire to be wise because godly wisdom comes from God. There are always two paths to choose from, the wise or the foolish, the good or the evil, the light or darkness. One follows God the other follows the devil. Choose wisely. Be blessed.

March 8, 2025 – Proverbs 8:12-13, “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion. “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverted mouth, I hate.” That verse caught my attention and reminded me of what James teaches us about the mouth. James 3:8-12, “But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.”
When I hear my sisters and brothers openly using profanity like it’s nothing it breaks my heart. How God’s heart must break at such blatant disregard and disrespect for His holiness. As Christ’s followers, He has made all things new for us including how we speak, and holiness should not stop at our lips but fill every part of us. God does not hear the prayers of the perverted tongue. Over and over in the Proverbs, we are taught about the perverted and profane tongue. God deserves our holiness. Think about your attitude about using your mouth for profane and perverted language. What does that say about your obedience to God? Do you think that God cares? As you think about this, allow God to minister His truth to you. Be blessed!LikeLike

March 7, 2025 – Proverbs 7:6-9, “For at the window of my house I looked out through my lattice, and I saw among the naive, and discerned among the youths a young man lacking sense, passing through the street near her corner; And he takes the way to her house, in the twilight, in the evening, in the middle of the night and in the darkness.” In these verses of Proverbs seven, we see what happens to a young man who lives his life without discernment or wisdom. Without God’s word guiding us and being a light unto our path, we too would take that road that leads to destruction. This Proverb can serve as a picture of the broad road Christ teaches us about in Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
The sad thing is that many will choose to take this same dreadful and destructive path because anything goes on the broad road where there is no conviction, wisdom, or discernment. God never stops calling out to us about the dangers that lurk all around us, but like this young man, the heart is hardened and the ears of many are dull of hearing. We need God’s truth, we need His wisdom and discernment to keep us all from the evil that is hiding behind each corner. Be encouraged as you continue to read ” A Proverb Each Day”. Be blessed!

March 6, 2025 – Proverbs 6:20-23 -“My son, observe the commandment of your father and do not forsake the teaching of your mother; Bind them continually on your heart; Tie them around your neck. When you walk about, they will guide you; When you sleep, they will watch over you; And when you awake, they will talk to you.” For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life.” I love the picture that these Proverbs paint for us. How fast our children grow up and when they do the first thing that seems to go is what they have been taught about God. I am amazed at how much power lies in the culture. Culture is the ability of a select group of people to influence how other people think, act, and live.
The culture can do nothing spiritually beneficial for us in itself, but its negative effects on the lives of those who live by it can lead them to call out to God. Yet, many flock to worship at its feet anyway. The culture says, “It’s okay to kill your baby and without a thought, the lives of innocent babies are slaughtered by the millions. The culture says sexual freedom is your right and the whole world goes buck wild doing sexually immoral things that decades ago would have not been acceptable. God saw these days before the foundation of the world and, yet, He still allowed them to happen. He also knew that even in these dark times there would be those who would defy the culture and live according to His word. It is refreshing to be amongst the faithful who love God regardless of the circumstances.
It is the commandments of God that light our path and teach us all we need to know about this life. I stand amazed as I look back at the generations that have come to age, each one more horrifying than the next. As so many cry out, “Let the culture rule us! God in His lovingkindness gives them over. He does not want to force worship. Joshua 24:15. They do not realize that the god of their culture is the devil and he will bring them to a destructive end if they do not turn from their wicked ways. This Proverb has so much deep discipleship. Think about how the culture influences your life. Are your beliefs and convictions based on the commandments of God or the deceptions of the enemy? March 5, 2024 – Proverbs 5:18-23 – “Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice in the wife of your youth. As a loving hind and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; Be exhilarated always with her love. For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress And embrace the bosom of a foreigner? For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD, And He watches all his paths. His own iniquities will capture the wicked, And he will be held with the cords of his sin. He will die for lack of instruction, And in the greatness of his folly he will go astray.”
God highly esteems marriage. He desires parents to teach their sons to find a good wife and to be faithful to her. And to teach their daughters, how to choose men who want to represent the roles Christ has given them. Repeatedly the Proverb stresses how fundamentally important it is, not to allow yourself to be drawn away into adultery. It ruins marriages and destroys lives. When Christ is the center of our marriage, we will be led by the Holy Spirit. Marriage is a spiritual entity. It was created by God, to be in union with God. If we do not know God, then we will not know how to receive marriage as the gift He intended it to be. When Eve allowed the flesh to guide her role, instead of obeying the leadership God had given her, everything came crashing down. This is what is still happening today. Marriages fell because we do not approach it in the Spirit, but in our flesh; desiring the fleshly desires that are selfish and self-focused. Our marriages will not be blessed when we continue to handle God’s supernatural gift of marriage, by fleshly means. Be Blessed.

March 4, 2025 – Proverbs 4:25-27, “Let your eyes look directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet and all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.” This is the verse in Proverbs 4 that stuck out to me. It takes a great effort to stay focus in these times because there are so many distractions. God will not accept distractions as an excuse for how we live our lives, however. We must begin our day focused on the Father, on Christ and on Holy Spirit. We must force ourselves to keep our lives aligned in Christ. And we must deal with anything or anyone who would try to interfere with our desire to be solely set apart for Christ.
We must have our eyes fixed on Jesus at all times. Make a list of the things you believe that distracts you from keeping your gaze on Christ. Think about why you allow these things to distract you. Maybe God is calling you to draw nearer to Him and the distractions have become a way of resisting without actually speaking it out. God already knows our motives. I am so thankful that the Almighty Creator wants to be close to me because He is perfect in everyway and I am not. Hebrews 12:1-2, helps us to embrace God’s desire that we be close to Him. All of our human satisfactions will never compare to the peace God gives us. As you honesty deal with your list be confident that you will find all you need in God as you fix your gaze straight in front of you looking on to Christ, the author and perfecter of faith. Be blessed!

March 3, 2025 – Proverbs 3 – We are reminded again of the life God has for us in Proverbs 3:11-12, “My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord or loathe His reproof, for whom the Lord loves He reproves, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.” The Lord’s discipline is not the same as being punished by the Lord. The Lord’s discipline will cause you to have a conviction of remorse. God disciplines us so that we can become more like Him. He disciplines us be He wants us to learn and grow to become wiser. God’s discipline is evidence that He has claimed us as His own.
When we sin and make bad choices and there are no consequences for it, we should be very troubled. This is a very easy concept to understand as a parent. I could never see my child being disobedient, making bad choices (before they were grown), and do nothing. We love our children too much to just hand them over to their own destruction by neglecting to discipline them. Discipline is good for them as our children or children and good for us as God’s children. I did frown upon my parent’s discipline as a child, but once I became a parent my attitude changed and I understood how my parents loved me. Discipline is not always corporal punishment, nor is it abusive. Discipline is a purposeful and intentional desire to shape one’s character for good.
Discipline in training and teaching our children is the most loving thing we can do for them. Just as God desires us to be reverent and faithful witnesses of Christ, we should desire that for our children. Think about the word discipline, then pray and let the Holy Spirit reveal how you see or have seen God discipline you. Be blessed./p>

March 2, 2025 – Proverbs 2 – Proverbs 2:12-15, “To deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things; From those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; Who delight in doing evil and rejoice in the perversity of evil; Whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways;” Proverbs 2:12-15 reminds us of God’s desire and willingness to share His wisdom with us. The Almighty Creator cares deeply about us. It was not enough that Christ would give His life for us, but He would give us the ability to share His knowledge and wisdom. What a generous God we serve! Without God’s wisdom, we become perverted and evil.
God has a great plan for our lives, and He provides us with all that we need to attain that life. It may not be a life that is pain-free, or sorrow-free, but it is a life where God through His amazing wisdom guides you through every twist and turn. What do you need more of God’s wisdom and discernment about? He may have already given you an answer through His Proverbs. Be blessed!

March 1, 2025 – Proverbs 1:24 – 30 “Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention; And you neglected all my counsel and did not want my reproof; I will also laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your dread comes, when your dread comes like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently but they will not find me, because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord. “They would not accept my counsel, they spurned all my reproof.”
God has gone through great efforts to give us His word and He was under no obligation to do so. Over and over again God calls out to us to listen to His wisdom, yet we will consult others before consulting Him. Then when trouble comes there are those who not only expect Him to rescue them, but they become angry at God when He doesn’t. There are times when God reaches down and rescues a person from a difficult situation. He restores the things that the enemy destroyed and gives that person a second chance at life. But just as quickly as he was rescued, he forgets God. Then the next time trouble comes, that person is not rescued and it costs him his life. I have seen this happen in real life. This type of behavior reminds me of Proverbs 1:24-30. God has attempted to speak wisdom in this person’s life, but they won’t listen. Then when they cry out to God, it’s too late, and they must suffer the consequences of their disobedience.
God will not be mocked! He expects us to live by His Word. If He did not, provide us the wisdom He has provided in His Word, then there would be no punishment for sin and no consequences for bad behavior. These Proverbs are God’s lifeline to us and provide spiritual boundaries to keep us pointed to Christ and protected from the temptation of sin, the wiles of the devil, and the foolishness of our pride. Be blessed!
