Throughout history, we have seen the devil invoke evil through his minions, and then God uses it for good. It began at the beginning of creation. In the Garden, God placed Adam and Eve in a perfect setting. He gave Adam specific instructions on how they should live in His garden. They lived in perfect union with the Father. The devil finds his way into the Garden, with his plan to put to death this perfect relationship man enjoyed with God. The devil, also being created, knew what lurked in man’s free will as he invoked the use of it and destroyed God’s perfect union with His angels in heaven. So he approaches Eve armed with his lies, doubt, and deception, and moves her to disobey God. Surely this would end the creators’ union with the creator, and they would join him in eternal separation, and everything would come to an end. WRONG!!! This set forth God’s plan for eternal salvation and redemption through Christ sacrifice on the cross.
Fast forward to another place and time, and we meet Joseph. Joseph introduced us to God’s divine power in Genesis 50:20 “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.” God blessed Joseph by giving him the ability to interpret dreams. In his excitement, Joseph attempted to share God’s gift to interpret dreams with his family. That would seem like a good thing to do, from our side, so when he woke up, excited to share his dreams with his family, instead of being happy for Joseph, his brothers would turn to hate, jealousy, and bitterness. It was the perfect combination that the enemy thought he could use to destroy the plan and purpose God had for His people. So he filled the brothers’ hearts and minds with lies and deception and moved them to get rid of their little brother. They were already jealous that their father loved Joseph in a different way than how he loved them. So the devil got the brothers to agree with his plan to destroy the work God would do through Joseph, and everything was doomed for Israel. WRONG!! God used Joseph’s life in Egypt to bring about His perfect plan.
Over and over again, we see the devil fill someone with his lies and deception to stop God’s plan or silence His message, and every time, he was WRONG!! The most mind-blowing thing is that he keeps doing it to all of us, and when we focus our hearts on God, He always uses it for good. But I am amazed at how he can still get people today after thousands of years of seeing God totally diminish his evil and turning it into good. Then comes Charlie Kirk, a young man setting our youth on fire for Christ and teaching them how to think for themselves, with the Bible in hand. He has been building this movement for over 12 years. Again, the devil finds a subject in Taylor Robinson, who accepts his lies and deceptions, and fills his heart with bitterness and hatred, because Charlie Kirk speaks a message the devil utterly hates.
He hates it every time God opens a young person’s heart to hear the truth and embrace it. His hold over the generation is shrinking fast, and the elected representatives he is also deceiving are losing their hold and power over the culture. Isaiah 55:8-11 says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” The devil will keep getting it wrong every time. He can not think like God or reach the heights of His understanding. When he thinks one way, God will do something else, because He is God and sovereign over all things. And then there’s Psalm 119:91, which at the end of the verse says, “…For all things are Your servants”.
When Taylor Robinson pulled the trigger on his rifle, he could not imagine, nor could the devil, that he would serve to raise a revival in this generation like we have never seen before. The devil meant it for evil, but God meant it for good, to save a people alive. And so many people’s souls have come alive through this tragedy, and from it, Charlie Kirk gets to be rewarded, and God renews a new generation of believers. It was as if God used Charlie Kirk as a veil, while we were all distracted, deceived in the business of our own lives, not paying attention to how our country was changing and not seeing the evil that the enemy was unleashing. Then God called Charlie home and removed the veil of our complacency and caused our eyes to see and our hearts to be moved, and this generation of young people to run into His arms. The enemy hated Charlie Kirk’s message; he saw that he was losing the grip on a generation he held so tight, and the system he was using to accomplish it was losing its power and relevance. He thought he could finally get this generation back by putting his evil thoughts in the mind of this young man, and he could win them back. WRONG AGAIN!!! The devil saw a problem; God saw a revival of young hearts turning to Christ. Things that make you go hmmm.
